U ovoj radionici istražit ćete Morphing, način kretanja koji nadilazi tradicionalne ideje o anatomiji, kontroli i identitetu, inspiriran idejom hibridnih i stalno promjenjivih tijela.
BodyImage Techniques is a movement framework created by Romanian choreographer and filmmaker Simona Deaconescu, focusing on how the body moves and responds in connection with both its inner systems and the world around it. Each session is based on a different theme, allowing Simona to adjust the class depending on the group. In this workshop, you’ll explore Morphing, a way of moving that pushes beyond traditional ideas of anatomy, control, and identity, inspired by the idea of hybrid and constantly changing bodies.
Morphing invites you to discover how the body can shift and transform in new ways. Inspired by the way an octopus uses both its central brain and the neural clusters in its arms to move independently, and how gut bacteria send signals that influence how we feel and function, this class explores a body that generates movement from multiple sources at the same time. You’ll work with layers of breath, speed, and three-dimensional movement, allowing yourself to fold, stretch, and expand beyond usual patterns. The principle of tensegrity—how compression and tension create balance—will help you acquire a body that holds itself together while staying flexible.
BodyImage Techniques is inspired by Paul Schilder’s idea that our sense of self is shaped by what we feel and perceive. It also draws from feminist thinkers like Donna Haraway, who explores cyborgs as hybrid identities that mix human, machine, and nature, and Astrida Neimanis, who describes us as fluid beings, deeply connected to the world around us. These ideas inform the choreographer’s exploration of emobodiment as both archive and process—absorbing, transmitting, and reshaping meaning through movement.
